AKWA UNITED CELEBRATES BOBOYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY

Monday, 1st March 2021 is a day that Akwa United head coach Kennedy Boboye will not forget in a hurry as he was treated to a surprise party organised by the management, staff and players of the club to celebrate the tactician on his 44th birthday.

The atmosphere of the day which was just like every other day at work quickly changed into a carnival mood as staff and players showered Coach Boboye with prayers, gifts and best wishes on his arrival at the club house.

Chairman of the club Elder Paul Bassey described Coach Boboye as a dedicated and goal-oriented professional with the Midas touch.

“It’s indeed a special day for all of us here at Akwa United, we are one big family and we will continue to celebrate with every member of this family when we have the opportunity.

“Today is for coach Boboye and we are happy to celebrate with him on this special day of his. Coach Boboye is doing a great job already and we know with his wealth of experience in the game, he will add a sweet chapter to our history as a club.

“I join the Akwa United family, the Boboye family, friends, well wishers and the football community in wishing our Head Coach a happy birthday full of God’s bountiful blessings and guidance, success in his chosen career to the glory of God Almighty”

Elder Bassey expressed gratitude to God for sustaining coach Boboye and prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon him.

Veteran goalkeeper Bassey Akpan prayed good health for Coach Boboye and wished him success in his career. “Happy Birthday Boss… More Wins In Everything You Do In Jesus Name Amen”.

On his part, two-time Federation Cup winner and club captain Otobong Effiong described Coach Kennedy Boboye as a disciplinarian who always wants the best for his players and his team.

“On behalf of all the players, I want to join everyone at the club to celebrate our coach on his special day, we pray God to continue to bless and give him many more reasons to celebrate in his personal life and in Akwa United “.

The club’s Camp Commandant, Elder Israel Harry offered special prayer for Coach Boboye and prayed that God should grant the gaffer all the beautiful desires of his heart this year and beyond.

In his response, coach Kennedy Boboye expressed shock at the amount of love, best wishes and care showed him by the club and thanked the Chairman Elder Paul Bassey, the management, staff and players of the club for celebrating with him on his birthday.

“To say that I’m shocked and surprised by the way I’m being celebrated today will be an understatement. I didn’t expect anything like this today but you all have decided to celebrate me in this manner.

“I want to sincerely appreciate the chairman, Elder Paul Bassey and everyone here at Akwa United for this wonderful show of love and support to me. Of all the clubs that I have worked with, this is the first time that I’m being celebrated on my birthday. I pray that God should continue to bless and prosper you all and give us victories and successes so we can continue to celebrate especially in this 2020/2021 football season”.

High point of the party was the cutting of the birthday cake while players and officials were treated to sumptuous meals and assorted drinks.

Coach Kennedy Boboye joined Akwa United in December 2019 and guided the team to 6th position on the log before the 2019/2020 NPFL season was truncated by the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.

Currently, under Boboye’s tutelage, Akwa United are 5th on the log with 22 points from 13 matches following Sunday’s 3-0 thrashing of Rivers United in Uyo.
