AKWA UTD, ABIA WARRIORS CLASH GETS NEW DATE

MFON PATRICK

Nigeria Professional Football League match-day 3 fixture involving Akwa United and Abia Warriors has been rescheduled by the league organisers, League Management Company LMC.

The match which was originally fixed for Sunday January 10 has been brought forward to Saturday 9 January 2021 and will kickoff at 4pm at the Godswill Akpabio international stadium – the Nest of Champions in Uyo.

In a letter dated Monday 4 January 2021 and signed by the LMC Chief Operating Officer Salihu Abubaka, the league organisers regret any inconveniences the change in date may have caused both teams.

The game will be Akwa United’s second home fixture of the new NPFL season following their goalless draw on Match-day 1 against Dakkada FC.

Coach Kennedy Boboye’s team will be aiming for their first victory against Abia Warriors who have lost their opening two matches.

The Promise Keepers are on one point from their opening two games, (draw with Dakkada and a defeat against Enugu Rangers).
