Ahead of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League season, Akwa United football club will engage fellow NPFL side Enyimba International in a top pre-season friendly.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday 8th January, 2019 at the training pitch of the Nest of Champions in Uyo at three O’clock in the afternoon.
The Promise Keepers who recently unveiled 12 new players including former Enyimba Captain Mfon Udoh, will use the match to put finishing touches to their preparations for the kickoff of the new NPFL season scheduled to begin on January 13th.
The Two-Time Federation Cup Champions have played five pre-season friendlies under new coach Rafael Everton with three victories and two defeats last year. The match will afford the Brazilian tactician another chance to further blend his team for the new NPFL season.
Last season in the NPFL, Akwa United forced Enyimba to a draw in Calabar and defeated them in Uyo on their way to finishing second on the log.
