EVERTON DECLARES “WAR” ON IFEANYIUBAH

Head Coach of Akwa United Rafael Everton has revealed that there will be no love lost when he lead his new team against his former side FC IfeanyiUbah on Matchday 10 of the Nigeria Professional Football League on Wednesday in Uyo.

Everton was in charge of FC IfeanyiUbah in 2016 and won the Federation Cup the same year for the Anambra Warriors. The Brazilian tactician told the club’s official website www.akwaunitedfc.net that emotion will play no part when he face his former team at the Nest of champions on Wednesday.

“I am looking forward to the game on Wednesday against FC IfeanyiUbah and to be honest, I won’t attach any sentiment to the match because as a team our target is to get all three points on Wednesday.

“My first club in Nigeria was FC IfeanyiUbah and I have fond memories of my time in Nnewi especially the 2016 Federation Cup victory. But now I am in Akwa United and my focus is on how to do my best for Akwa United and achieve more with my new team.

“We have a fantastic home record against FC IfeanyiUbah – 2 wins and a draw, and we want to maintain that record on Wednesday. My boys are fully prepared and motivated for this game and we must put in our very best to ensure we get the desired result”.
