FRIDAY, OLISEMA PLOT KADA CITY FALL IN UYO

As Akwa United target their third win of the season on Monday, the dou of Ubong Friday and Cyril Olisema have vow to put in their very best to ensure that newly promoted side Kada City of Kaduna will leave Uyo empty-handed on matchday 8 of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL.

The two Forward players revealed their plans in a chat with the club’s official website www.akwaunitedfc.net that their intention is to ensure that Akwa United collect all the available points in all their remaining matches.

Winger Ubong Friday who captained the team to victory against Go Round and Yobe Dersert Stars said: ” Our results in the last two games has helped us to regain our confidence, so we want to build on that going into the game against Kada City on Monday.

“We have dropped five points already at home from our first two games and we cannot afford to drop anymore points at home. We are all ready to fight for every points and any team that comes here should know that the three points at stake is non-negotiable” said the Vice Captain.

On his part, influential midfielder Cyril Olisema believes that the team is yet to fully display it’s potential but expressed optimism that they will come out victorious against Kada City on Monday.

“I am grateful to God that we have bounced back to winning ways and the feelings in camp is absolutely fantastic. We have always believed that we are capable of doing well and winning our games, even when we struggled in our opening four matches, that believe of getting it right was always there.

“Now that we have started to get positive results, it is not a good time for any team to visit the Nest of champions with the hope of getting anything. Although we will not underrate any team whether we are playing at home or away but we won’t also compromise in collecting maximum points no matter the opposition.

“Our next game is against Kada City and from what we know, they are a good side and have gotten some good results too, but I can assure our fans that Kada City will not escape defeat in Uyo on Monday” the midfelider concluded.

Coach Rafael Everton’s team will be aiming for their third consecutive win against the privately owned Kada City side; in what will be their first ever meeting at any level. The responsibility of getting the much needed goals will rest on the shoulders of prolific Forwards Mfon Udoh, Ndifreke Effiong, Ubong Friday and Cyril Olisema.

Victory for the Two-Time Federation Cup Champions could see them move into the top four positions on the twelve-team NPFL Group B log.
