MFON UDOH, SUNUSI IBRAHIM SHARE EUNISELL BOOT AWARD, RECEIVE 2M EACH

Akwa United prolific striker Mfon Udoh and Nasarawa United forward Ibrahim Sunusi have officially been presented with Eunisell Boot Award  and a cheque of Two Million Naira each for emerging joint highest goal scorer in the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Udoh and Sunusi netted ten goals each for their respective clubs at the just concluded abridged  NPFL season. Both players were honoured at a colourful Award ceremony at the iconic Radisson Blu Hotels in Lagos on Friday night.
Sponsors of the Award Eunisell value each goal at a whooping Two Hundred Thousand Naira while the player with the highest number of goals at the end of a particular season claim the top prize. It is the first time that two players have emerge winners of the award in the same season.
The Award which was instituted by the energy firm last football season saw former Kano Pillars striker winning the award and a cash prize of Three point Eight Million Naira after scoring 19 goals for his side.
With the 2018/2019 award, Mfon Udoh becomes the first player in the history of Nigeria Professional Football League to win the league top scorers award twice, having set a record for the highest number of goals scored in a football season with 23 goals  while playing for Enyimba International in the 2013/2014 NPFL season.
Udoh’s ten league goal came against Plateau United (2), FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Gombe United, Yobe Stars, Abia warriors, Heartland FC, Kada City (Delta Force) Nasarawa United, Delta Force.
In a welcome address, the Eunisell Group Managing Director Mr. Chika Ikenga said the initiative is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Mr Ikenga explain that the major objectives of the Eunisell Boot Award is to help raise the standard of professional football league in Nigeria through incentives and awareness. He further stated that the essence of the award is to demonstrate to players in the domestic league that football career in Nigeria is real. He also said that Eunisell will continue to work to increase the interest of spectators and support for clubs and players in the domestic league.
In his response, Mfon Udoh commended Eunisell Group for the honour done him and the cash prize which he said was a wonderful source of motivation for players in the league.
