NPFL: AKWA UTD INVADE OKIGWE, TARGET SECOND AWAY WIN

Highflyers Akwa United will be aiming for their second away win of the season when they engage their hosts Heartland Football Club on matchday 11 of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The Promise Keepers are enjoying a six match unbeaten run and will be seeking to further extend that record on Sunday afternoon at the Okigwe stadium in what will be the last match in the first stanza of the season.

With just two points behind joint leaders FC IfeanyiUbah and El-Kanemi Warriors, victory in Okigwe could see Coach Rafael Everton’s side go top of Group B log if other results go their way on Sunday.

Both sides who are enjoying flight partnership agreement with a foremost Airlines Dana Air, have met in the NPFL five times in the past with the Promise Keepers leading on head-to-head record with three victories to two against Heartland. However, the Uyo based side who have scored more goals in the league this season will once again look up to their top striker Mfon Udoh to deliver the much needed goals as they hope to continue their dominance over their hosts.

Akwa United have picked six points from five away games comprising one win, three draws with one defeat and they will be targeting another impressive away game on Sunday.

Coach Everton has included top scorer Mfon Udoh who has scored seven goals in ten games among the selected 18 players for the game. Udoh who scored four goals and assisted in two in the month of February was announced league Player of the month (February) by the organisers of League Bloggers Award.
