NPFL: WE CAN BEAT ENYIMBA IN ABA – DARE OJO

Akwa United veteran midfielder Dare Ojo says getting a positive result against Enyimba International will boost the team’s morale in their quest to defend their NPFL title.

The reigning Champions will be guests to Enyimba in a reschedule match-day 7 game at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Wednesday afternoon.

Ojo who recently returned to full fitness following injury lay-off,
played the last few minutes of Akwa United goalless draw against Sunshine Stars in Uyo on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the mid-week game, the former Enyimba player spoke on the need for his team to go all out for victory in Aba.

After Sunday’s disappointing outing against Sunshine Stars in Uyo, it’s time for us to make up for the points we dropped at home by redoubling our efforts to ensure we get a good result in Aba.

“The match will be tough and we have to up our game and be ready to give it our all. Last season, we got one point here in Aba and this time around we are aiming for the maximum three points. We know it’s possible because we are capable. All what we need is to get our game plan right”.

Dare Ojo is part of the twenty-man matchday squad selected by coach Kennedy Boboye to prosecute the reschedule game.

After seven rounds of matches, Akwa United have have accumulated eleven points comprising three wins, two draws and two loses. Victory in Aba on Wednesday will be their first away win of the season.

The head-to-head record between the two teams in eighteen previous meetings indicates that Enyimba have recorded seven wins to Akwa United’s six while five of those matches ended in draws.

The reschedule match-day 7 will kick off at 4pm.
