Why I joined Akwa United FC – Alimi

Akwa United new signing Jamiu Alimi says he choose to join the Promise Keepers because of her ambitions as a true professional football club with clear determination to succeed.

The Super Eagles versatile defender expressed delight on achieving his dream move to Akwa United.

“Playing for Akwa United has always been my dream. Last season, I was very close to joining the team but something went wrong and that move wasn’t successful, but I’m glad that I’m finally here.

” There is something special about Akwa United that you don’t see in other clubs. The Management structure is fantastic, they have Sound coaches, top quality players, the fans are always there to get behind their team and the facilities at the stadium is the best in the country.

“In my opinion, Akwa United is a model club in the NPFL. Now that I am part of the team, I have to offer my best to help the team to succeed. The major target of the club this season is the league title and I believe it is within reach. By the end of the second phase of the league, hopefully we will be crown champions”.

The former Kano Pillars man had also played for Sunshine Stars and was part of the Super Eagles team to under Coach Sunday Oliseh and the present Coach Gernot Rohr.
