A bronze medalist at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations tournament and Cameroonian goalkeeper Jean Efala on Sunday returned to his club Akwa United and took time to appreciate the fans of the club for the wonderful support he enjoyed from them during the 2021 Africa football fiesta in Cameroon.
Efala who won the NPFL title with Akwa United last season was a member of the Cameroonian national team that finished third at the 2021 AFCON tournament early this month.
Efala acknowledged cheers and also waved at fans and supporters of Akwa United at half time during NPFL Match-day 14 between Akwa United and Dakkada FC at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday.
The shot-stopper resumed training with the Promise Keepers and was warmly received at the training ground by his teammates shortly before the commencement of Monday training session.
Efala is the only NPFL player that won a medal at the just concluded 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which was hosted by his native county Cameroon.
