Dazzling winger Samuel Amadi scored his first Hat-trick for Akwa United in a 3-0 victory over Remo Stars in Round 32 of the 2022 Federation Aiteo Cup game played at the UNEC playground in Enugu.
Amadi opened scoring in the 26th minute when he fired a sweet low drive from inside the box beyond Remo Stars goalkeeper James Faith to put his team in front.
The left-footed forward doubled his team’s advantage in the 67th minute following a beautiful team play between Ubong Friday, James Ajako and Austin Osayande.
The lanky winger completed his hat-trick ten minutes from time after receiving a clever pass from Bello Babatunde and calmly unleashed a great strike beyond helpless James Faith thus securing an emphatic win for coach Ayodeji Ayeni’s team as they advance into round 16 of the oldest club football competition in Nigeria.
Amadi who managed just two goals for Akwa United in the just concluded NPFL season has now scored four goals in two Federation Aiteo Cup games having previously registered his first of the competition against Essien Ayi FC in round 64 in Aba.
Akwa United champions in 2015 and 2017 will next square up against NNL outfit Kogi United in round of 16 at the UNEC playground Enugu as they hope to lift the trophy for the third time in seven years.
