Akwa United advanced to the final of the 2018 Akwa Ibom State FA Cup with a 3-1 victory over Flying Sports Academy in the second semi final of the competition on Saturday.
Two first half goals by Cyril Olisema and Ubong Friday and a third by Victor Mbaoma in the second half encouraged the Promise Keepers to a comfortable win.
The defending champions who defeated Hills FC 3-0 in the quarter final will engage Cofine FC who knocked out Akwa Starlets 1-0 in the first semi final in Sunday’s final at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Akwa United have won the Akwa Ibom State FA Cup for a record eight times in nine years and will be looking to lift the trophy yet again on Sunday.
The two finalists, Akwa United and Cofine FC will represent Akwa Ibom State in the Aiteo Cup later this year.
