AKWA UTD RESCUE A POINT IN SIX GOALS THRILLER AGAINST ENUGU RANGERS 

Akwa United staged a late come back to rescue a crucial point in a dramatic 3-3 draw against ten man Enugu Rangers on Matchday 3 of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League Super-Six Play-offs at the Agege Stadium on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, Cyril Olisema converted a penalty to put his side in the lead. Rangers were then reduced to ten men following the sending off of Isiaka Oladuntoye after two bookable offence.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Rangers turn up in style and scored three goals in the space of nine minutes. Chiamaka Madu level the scores for Rangers with a diving header before Michael Uchebo’s brace in the 68th and 70th minute put the Flying Antelopes in cruise control.
But the Promise Keepers clawed their way back into the game in the last minute of regulation time when defender Denis Nya headed in Mfon Udoh’s curling freekick. Nya completed the come back with another header deep in stoppage time. The defender’s brace secured a vital points for the Promise Keepers.
The draw means Akwa United stay third on the log with five points from three games following a 2-2 draw against Kano Pillars and a 2-1 win over FC Ifeanyi Ubah. Kano Pillars top the table with seven points from three matches while Enyimba are second with six points from the same number of games.
Akwa United will next face Lobi Stars on Monday by 5pm before their last outing against Enyimba on Wednesday at the Agege stadium.
The top three teams at the end of the Play-offs will represent the country at the continental level next football season.
