Akwa United will play two grade A friendlies this weekend as they continue their preparations for the start of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
The Promise Keepers will on Saturday engage neighbours Abia Warriors by 4pm at the Nest of champions and will also face Rivers United on Sunday at the same venue.
Akwa United lost their first pre-season friendly last week Sunday against Heartland FC in Owerri. Coach Rafael Everton who joined the team early this month will play his first home game when his boys will battle fellow NPFL sides Abia Warriors and Rivers United this weekend.
Coach Everton will have the opportunity of further assessing his players fitness level while also introducing his philosophy of the game to his new team.
The two pre-season friendly may see all the players having a feel of the action as they continue to compete for starting shirt in the up coming season.
