The Management of Akwa United Football Club have concluded plans to officially unveil their new Head Coach to the media community, fans, supporters and the public on Monday 5th November 2018, in Uyo.
Chairman of the club Elder Paul Bassey made this known during an interaction with some sport journalists on the team’s plans for the 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League season scheduled to kickoff in December.
The unveiling ceremony will take place at conference room of the Godswill Akpabio international stadium (Nest of Champions) in Uyo on Monday by Eleven O’clock in the morning (11:00am)
The new Coach will fill the vacant position left by Former Coach Abdu Maikaba following the expiration of his contact with the Promise Keepers last month.
In a related development, Akwa United is set to commence training next week ahead of the new NPFL season.
The Promise Keepers finished the 2018 NPFL season in second place and bowed out of the FA (Aiteo) Cup in the quarter final. The team went on end-of-season break early October and the players are expected to return to camp on or before Sunday 4th November while training will start next week.
