Following the official unveiling of Akwa United’s new home and away jerseys, the chairman of the club Elder Paul Bassey has urged fans and supporters of the club to continue showing their love and support to the team while wearing the club’s jersey with pride.
The club’s new jerseys for the 2023-24 football season is designed by a Lagos-based kits manufacturing firm – Owu SportsWear and the new designs comprised the club’s traditional colours; Orange and white with a touch of black and brown. The jersey is sold for only four thousand naira each.
Elder Bassey commended the government of Akwa Ibom State led by His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno for being the pillar of support to the team and revealed that the team is fully prepared to make the state proud in the upcoming season.
The club boss expressed appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports Sir Monday Uko for his encouragement and for always standing by the team.
“Since we came on board, we have made it our culture to refresh our dressing room by changing our jerseys every season. It’s the usual practice in football globally. So this season we took a decision at the level of the management of the club to go with these beautiful designs that were sent to us by our kits manufacturer Owu SportsWear. We didn’t need to debate for long on the choice of these jerseys because it was a unanimous decision by all management staff.
“Since 2016, we have had many great and wonderful jersey designs as you can see and every season fans and supporters of our great club will want us to stick to a particular design maybe because they believe we can’t get something good but everytime, we always come up with something better.
“So this season, we have come up with these iconic designs and we trust it’s good enough and we want to use this occasion to invite all our fans and supporters to patronize us, buy these jerseys, they are affordable and wear them with pride anywhere you go as you continue to support us to go for the top prize which is the league trophy this season”.
Akwa United will kickstart their 2023-24 NPFL season with an away game tie against Bayelsa United on Saturday September 30, 2023 at the Samson Siasia stadium in Yenagoa.

There is no link to buy the jerseys or a physical store address where to buy from. There’s no where the price is stated. I have seen people express interest but can’t seem to find where to buy the jerseys. I think these information should be provided to enable fans get the jerseys.
